FAQ

CELLwood

What are the characteristics of CELLwood?
(1)The material is a chemical polymer structure composed of SBC, it also has the characteristics of plastic, rubber and wood.
(2)Utilize unique method and hot press foaming process to make the material of wood-like property.
(3)Low water absorption, antiseptic, insect prevention.

What are the advantages of CELLwood?
(1) Good strength and slip resistance.
(2) No swelling and buckling; anti-acid and alkali.
(3) Easy for shaping (sawing, cutting, nailing, drilling, milling, grinding…).
(4) Non-toxic, No formaldehyde.
(5) Eco-friendly, recyclable, and re-usable.
(6) Long fiber reinforcement to improve board strength.
(7) Different colors and densities of wood, supplemented by printing, embossing and groove.

What are the restrictions of CELLwood?
(1) Recommended for use in -22º F ~ 185ºF.
(2) Avoid solvents such as benzene, toluene and xylene.
(3) Not fireproof, keep away from flame.

What are the classification of CELLwood?
(1) CELLwood board:(t)12~30 x (w) 900x (l)1800mm.(t)12/24 x (w) 1200 x (l)2400mm.
(2) CELLwood decking:(t)12~30 x (w)145/175/220/300 x (l)1800/2400mm.

What are the methods of machining of CELLwood?
(1) Use the same machining tools and equipments with wood and WPC, but cutting tools must be deeper groove, a small number of cutter teeth , and wider pitch of teeth.
(2) Screws, steel nails and fasteners can be accepted by wood.
(3) The surface can be polished and varnished.
(4) Bonding can be used two-component adhesive (large area), instant glue (small area).
(5) General engraving, laser engraving, water jet cutter and CNC machining can be accepted.

What are the applications of CELLwood?
(1) Furniture suppliers.
(2) toys and crafts (wood sculptures, cultural and creative products…).
(3) humid environment (bathroom, SPA room, swimming pool deckings…) and other wood substitutions.
(4) fences, landscape terraces, door and window decoration panels, grillages, pavilions, chairs and tables …

Is CELLwood suitable for use as a main structural material?
Because CELLwood is made of pure plastic, it is not recommended to use CELLwood as a main structural material, in view of the general plastic materials are not suitable for resistant to weight.

What are the thickness ranges of CELLwood?
(1) Currently in the factory 3 ' * 6 ' (90CM width * 180CM length) mold can produce 12mm to 30mm of thickness.
(2) Currently in the factory 4 ' * 8 ' (120CM width * 240CM length) mold can produce 12mm and 24mm of thickness.

What is the water absorption of CELLwood?
According to the test method ASTM D570, the water absorption of CELLwood is about 0.29%; wood plastic composite (WPC) is about 3 ~ 10%; and water absorption of general solid wood is also very high.

What is the difference between CELLwood with and without fiber glass reinforcement?
In the two tests of tensile load (testing method: ASTM D638) and breaking load (testing method: ASTM D790), the tensile load with a fiber glass reinforcement is about 2 times higher than without a fiber glass reinforcement; the breaking load with a fiber glass reinforcement is about 4 times higher than without a fiber glass reinforcement. Therefore, if we have requirements of loading, such as decking, fiber glass reinforcements are required to increase strength and improve safety.
