Biobased, Biodegradable, Carbon Capture, Recycled

Starting from 2019, with existing foundation in eco-friendly PU leather, film, and resin (water-based PU / waterborne PU & solvent-free PPU / non-solvent PPU), Ocean Plastics Co., Ltd. began ventures into new sustainable elements, such as biobased / biomass, biodegradable, carbon capture, or recycled materials. Per customer needs, we adjust different elements to provide the best solution as we steadily tread forward in our sustainability roadmap.

Biomass, Biobased Plant fibers, oyster shell, biobased waterborne PU resin The use of biobased or biomass materials replaces and reduces the amount of petroleum-based materials used, and it also upcycles waste, contributing to the concept of circular economy.
Biodegradable Raw materials with biodegradable property In a product’s post-consumer stage (waste, landfill, etc.), biodegradable materials in it can be broken down by organisms & the ecosystem into naturally occurring substances, lowering the product’s environmental impact on land and ocean.
Carbon Capture Waterborne PU resin based on carbon capture Capture of CO2 carbon dioxide from the environment can reduce CO2 and can reintroduce CO2 into chemical and raw material synthesis.
Recycled Yarn from recycled materials, reuse of industry waste After treatments at the end of their life cycle, materials can be reused, which reduces waste and lowers the dependence on virgin raw materials, thereby decreasing the need for new petroleum sources / excavations and their accompanying carbon emission. E.g.: textile backing in PU leather structure (PU Knowledge→PU Leather Structure)。
